About CalculatorQuest
CalculatorQuest is a free website of Australian pay, tax, super, HECS and property calculators, with articles that explain the rules behind them.
Who runs the site
CalculatorQuest is an independent website. It is not part of, or endorsed by, the Australian Taxation Office or any other government agency, bank, lender or super fund.
The site is free to use, with no sign-up. Some pages show advertising served by Google; advertisers have no access to the numbers you enter, because calculations run in your browser. See the privacy policy for what analytics and advertising cookies collect.
What the calculators do
They estimate take-home pay, tax, Medicare levy, HECS-HELP repayments, super and property costs for Australian residents, using the published rules for the 2026-27 financial year (and earlier years where you can choose one). The main calculators are:
Pay and tax
Super, HECS and Medicare
The site also has general tools such as date, maths, unit and health calculators. See all calculators.
How rates are checked
- Tax, Medicare, HECS-HELP, super and redundancy figures are kept in one configuration file per financial year. Each figure has the official ATO page it came from recorded beside it.
- The 2026-27 figures were last checked against those pages on . Each calculator and article shows its own "last updated" date and source links.
- Where a figure has not been published yet, the page says so rather than showing a guess.
- Automated tests compare the calculations with hand-worked examples from the ATO tables.
The formulas, assumptions and full source list are on the methodology page.
Limitations
The calculators assume a resident taxpayer with straightforward salary or business income. They do not cover every situation, including:
- foreign income, trusts, partnerships and companies
- deductions, offsets and credits other than those listed on the methodology page
- family Medicare levy thresholds and the seniors and pensioners tax offset
- the exact PAYG amounts your employer withholds, which follow ATO withholding schedules
Estimates only, not tax or financial advice. Results are general information based on published ATO rules and the figures you enter. For advice about your situation, speak to a registered tax agent or licensed financial adviser. How we calculate 路 Spotted a mistake?
